1000 years of Harlesden
A design competition reflecting on the history of the last 1000 years.
Harlesden was recorded in 1057, and many changes have come to Harlesden since.
Quiet village life changed with the industrial revolution, which brought the Irish workers to build the railroads and later the African Caribbean, South Asian, Brazilian workers and communities. Now Somali, Romanian and many other cultures are bringing their flavors and adding to what makes Harlesden special.
